Our Inpatient Care Group Services are divided into two directorates:
• Adult Mental Health/Rehabilitation Services
• Older People’s Inpatient Services
Inpatient Care provides a broad range of services within inpatient settings. These include: assessment and treatment wards for adults experiencing a mental health problem and older people presenting with a functional or organic need. In addition other forms of service include: a Psychiatric Intensive Care service, High Dependency Units and a range of Rehabilitation Services.
The main aim of Inpatient Care Group Services is to provide high quality efficient and effective care to the people we serve in the least restrictive environments.
Our services are provided to the populations of all six local authority areas that are coterminus with Northumberland, Tyne and Wear geographical boundaries. We work in close partnership with primary care, local authorities and third sector to ensure the effectiveness of our care provision and pathways.
Our services are flexible to the needs, requirements and aspirations of service users and carers. The vast majority of services within the inpatient care group are provided on a 24/7 basis and as such we are able to meet the needs of service users and carers in a timely and responsive manner.
Inpatient Care Group Services aim to provide the very best levels of care and treatment by putting patients at the centre of everything we do and we expect staff to acknowledge and value the expertise of service users and carers who come into contact with inpatient care group services.
We encourage our service users and carers to provide feedback on their experience to help improve the quality of our services and should anyone be dissatisfied with the service received we have a very accessible complaints process.
